Social Investment in the Community
An innovative initiative that aims to contribute toward the social development of communities.
IDIS objective is to contribute toward the social development of communities using its own innovative community development methodologies, aiming to make better use of local resources for greater social benefit.
To this end, IDIS conceived a pilot project, the Programa DOAR – Programa de Apoio ao Desenvolvimento do Investimento Social na Comunidade (DOAR Program – Program to Support the Development of Social Investment in the Community), which allowed for the design of the community development methodologies that today are part of the following social action technologies used by IDIS:
To systematize and disseminate the main concepts and practices developed over the years of learning in the program, the IDIS Collection of Social Investment was produced, consisting of five volumes destined for those interested in strategic actions of private social investment.
Five Technical Notes were also written and published, which contribute to the training of the members of the DOAR Program. The Technical Notes (which are available in the Library of the IDIS Portal), cover the following themes: “10 IDIS Tips for good social investment”; Corporate Social Responsibility, Private Social Investment, Cause Related Marketing and Sustainability of Civil Society Organizations”; “Pointers for Fundraising for Projects”; and DOAR Portal – Technology at the service of social development”.
