Challenge
Fundraising is a common challenge for many Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). Seeking support to address this issue, Ação da Cidadania reached out to IDIS.
The goal was to contribute to Ação da Cidadania‘s fundraising strategy, focusing on three main objectives: mapping opportunities and risks for fundraising alongside companies and individuals; categorizing and ranking these opportunities; and finally, defining a mobilization strategy for each category of supporters, along with an action plan.
The solution was divided into two phases.
Solution and Results
First, fundraising guidelines were established through a comprehensive assessment. This assessment included interviews with the organization’s leaders and food security experts, as well as benchmarking with six international organizations and analysis of both internal and external references.
Next, a mobilization and mapping plan was developed, with the definition of relationship guidelines for prioritized companies and funding sources. To support this, three workshops were conducted, covering topics such as mapping and engagement strategy, relationship guidelines and a policy on risks and restrictions.
