In October, the African Philanthropy Forum 2024 took place in Marrakesh, Morocco. The event, a partner of the Global Philanthropy Forum – as well as the Brazilian Philanthropy Forum – attracted over 200 participants over two days of intense programming. Paula Fabiani, CEO of IDIS, was one of the speakers at the event.
Under the theme ‘A New Agenda for African Philanthropy: Catalyzing Resources to Accelerate Africa’s Transformation’ the discussions covered topics such as emergencies, education, climate, income generation, technology, and gender, as well as the role of the Global South in transforming family, individual, and corporate philanthropy, as well as in impact investing.
Paula participated in the session ‘Philanthropy Driving Transformation: Lessons from the Global South’, alongside Antonio Bweme from WINGS; Marie-Louise Gourlay from Forward Global; Naila Taji Farouky from the Arab Foundations Forum (AFF); and Mosun Layode from the African Philanthropy Forum.
“Learning, hospitality, and energy were highlights of this event in a country full of aromas, colors, and history. It was an unforgettable experience!”, said Paula.
